2011 Djibouti Fish Watch mission
This Fish Watch mission took place in the Gulf of Tadjura (Republic of Djibouti) in November 2011. Its main goal was to survey fish communities in different places and different habitats, and try to understand their structure according to habitat characteristics. Four different sites were surveyed, around Musha and Maskali islands and in the south of the Gulf, close to Arta.

The Fish Wtch team was composed of 19 volunteer divers, and managed by our scientific manager Patrick Louisy. This mission benefited from a deep involvement of local authorities in a truly cooperative relationship.

Many thanks to all the participants, including representatives of the Environment Ministry and the University of Djibouti, and local amateur divers. We also wish to thank our main partners and supports in Djibouti : Direction de l'Environnement (Ministère de l’Habitat, de l’Urbanisme, de l’Environnement et de l’Aménagement du Territoire), Faculté des Sciences de l’Université de Djibouti, CERD (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche de Djibouti), Service des Pêches, Office National du Tourisme de Djibouti (thanks to Mohamed Abdillahi Waiss), and also Luc Poirier and the team of the diving center Lagon Bleu, and Osman Ersen (Blue Lagoon France), who made this scientific and human adventure possible.
